On WorkBuddy, Step 5 Preview is intended to handle deep research, information retrieval, data analysis, document and PPT generation, and to support continuous execution of multi-step complex tasks. The integration combines Step 5 Preview with WorkBuddy's Agent product, a move the report links to higher task execution efficiency and delivery quality as well as a new entry point for Stepfun in real office scenarios.

Step 5 Preview is a new-generation flagship foundation model optimized for AI programming, software engineering, professional knowledge work and finance. It uses a sparse MoE architecture with 600 billion total parameters and about 27 billion parameters activated per token. The model is positioned to balance flagship-level comprehensive intelligence, efficiency and cost.

Third-party evaluations and platform usage data cited in the report show its competitive position. On Artificial Analysis, a global model evaluation leaderboard, Step 5 Preview has a comprehensive intelligence index of 44, placing it among the top three open-source models globally. Last week, it topped OpenRouter's Trending list and ranked second worldwide on the daily chart measured by token usage.

The cooperation gives WorkBuddy users access to Step 5 Preview's reasoning and Agent capabilities during the free period. For Stepfun, it adds a new channel into real office work scenarios, while Tencent WorkBuddy seeks to improve the execution and delivery of complex office tasks.
