T-Mobile has opened preorders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, offering new customers a standard iPhone 18 Pro on a new line without a trade-in and up to $1,200 off for existing customers through qualifying trade-ins.

TechRadar reported that the new-customer offer applies to people who switch from another carrier and add a line on T-Mobile's Experience Beyond 2.0 plan. Under that promotion, the standard iPhone 18 Pro is included with the new line, and no trade-in is required. That structure could appeal to customers coming from another carrier without a device they want to hand over.

For existing customers, T-Mobile is offering a trade-in rebate of up to $1,200 off. The discount is available on both the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max, according to the report, but requires an associated plan. Customers must have a line on either the Experience Beyond 2.0 plan or the legacy Go5G Next plan.

TechRadar described the opening offer as competitive and roughly in line with T-Mobile's promotions for high-end iPhones over the past couple of months. The report said the deal is slightly better than usual because the iPhone 18 Pro is $100 more expensive than the previous generation, making the discount effectively larger relative to the higher price. The trade-in rebate is more standard, but it is roughly equivalent to what other major carriers are offering now.

Of the two promotions, TechRadar identified the switching offer as the highlight. It noted that several other carriers still require trade-in criteria for a similar discount, while T-Mobile's new-line deal does not require a trade-in.
