TeamGroup 32GB DDR4-3200 Kit Drops to $199.99 at Newegg With Code

Newegg lists a 32GB TeamGroup T-Force DDR4-3200 kit at $199.99 with code GTWF576, TechRadar reports, down from $263.99.

Newegg lists the kit at $239.99, already $24 below $263.99, and the code takes an additional $40 off to reach $199.99, according to TechRadar. The report said the same kit has sold for less: it was previously on sale at Newegg for $119.99, which is $80 below the current discounted price. TechRadar tied the pricing to the memory crisis.

The kit contains two 16GB modules and runs at DDR4-3200 with CL16 latency and 16-20-20-40 timings. It uses a standard 288-pin desktop DIMM design, operates at 1.35V at its rated settings, is non-ECC and unbuffered, and has gray aluminum heat spreaders. It supports Intel XMP 2.0, allowing compatible systems to load the advertised memory settings through the BIOS, and is compatible with supported Intel and AMD desktop motherboards; buyers still need to check their motherboard specifications.

TechRadar said DDR5 is the memory standard for newer PCs but costs far more than DDR4, especially for faster or higher-capacity kits. The Vulcan Z kit is intended for users who want more DDR4 memory without paying extra for RGB lighting and similar features.

TechRadar's buying guidance said the kit suits a compatible DDR4 desktop with 16GB or less of RAM that regularly encounters memory limitations, including during multitasking, photo editing and gaming. It advised skipping the kit if the system already has sufficient RAM or if the buyer is building a new PC around a motherboard that requires DDR5 memory, because the DDR4 kit cannot be installed in DDR5 slots.
