TechRadar Editor Says Apple's HomeView Lessened His Need to Reach for an iPhone at Home
TechRadar's US news editor Jacob Krol says a hands-on test of Apple's HomeView let him do more at home without picking up his iPhone, according to the outlet's own account.
Krol oversees the daily rollout of content at TechRadar and coordinates with the publication's various section leads. He joined the outlet in May 2024 and is based in New York City.
Before joining TechRadar, Krol was senior editor for technology and commerce at TheStreet, where he covered consumer technology products, including pre-order information, deals, reviews and analysis. He was previously a founding member of CNN Underscored, where he built and expanded the electronics section and also helped develop social media channels, program the homepage and set testing protocols for one-off reviews and best-of guides. Earlier he worked as a technology writer at Mashable, covering news, reviews and evergreen content. His reporting has covered Apple, Samsung, Google and Microsoft, and he has tested smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smart home devices, speakers, earbuds, headphones, televisions and smart glasses.
Krol holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Communication, awarded cum laude, with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Muhlenberg College. While at college he interned at CNET, Fox News, CNN and CNBC, and ran his own technology blog, NJTechReviews, which he founded in 2010.
TechRadar's item did not include pricing, availability or a list of the specific household tasks Krol tested with HomeView.
