TechRadar Names Amazon Australia Products It Says Shoppers Should Not Buy at Full Price
TechRadar says Amazon Australia shoppers should wait for discounts on Ninja, Dyson and Breville, not full price.
Amazon entered Australia almost a decade ago and has since changed the local retail market, the report said. By 2026, Amazon is the biggest online retailer in Australia, supported by fast shipping that includes same-day delivery, a wide product selection and competitive prices. TechRadar said its monitoring of deals has shown that certain brands and categories are consistently discounted during events such as Prime Day, EOFY, Black Friday and the Prime Big Deal Days sale that is currently underway.
The list of brands includes Ninja, Shark, Dyson, Sennheiser, Breville and Amazon's own devices and brands. For Ninja, TechRadar cited the Luxe Café Premier at AU$577.89, down from AU$799.99, and the DoubleStack XXXL air fryer at AU$170.05, down from AU$599.99. For Shark, it cited the PowerDetect Clean & Empty at AU$462.10, down from AU$999, and the Turboblade Ultra at AU$279, down from AU$399.99.
TechRadar also pointed to Dyson vacuums, including the V8 Origin at AU$284.99, down from AU$499, and the V15s Detect Submarine at AU$869, down from AU$1,549. Sennheiser products on the list included Momentum 4 headphones at AU$240, down from AU$499; Momentum 4 earbuds at AU$247, down from AU$499; and HD600 open-back headphones at AU$299, down from AU$599.95.
For Breville, the report cited the Barista Express at AU$599, down from AU$999, and the InFizz Fusion at AU$141.05, down from AU$249. Amazon's own products, which TechRadar said are frequently among the first to receive steep discounts before sales such as Prime Day, included a two-pack of Blink Outdoor 4 at AU$58.99, down from AU$179; the Kindle Paperwhite at AU$259, down from AU$329; and the Echo Hub at AU$118, down from AU$329. The report said the same logic applies to Kindle ereaders, Echo speakers and smart home hubs, Ring and Blink doorbells and cameras, Fire TV sticks and Amazon Basics products.
TechRadar also named electric toothbrushes and coffee machines as product types that shoppers should not pay full price for. It said Oral-B and Philips are the two biggest names in electric toothbrushes, and the number of models means there are usually multiple discounts during Amazon sales, with savings of more than 60 percent common. The report cited the Oral-B iO Series 3 at AU$71.24, down from AU$199; a two-pack of Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9000 at AU$249, down from AU$619; and the Oral-B iO 6 Connected Coach at AU$179.55, down from AU$529. It added that such sales are a chance to buy replacement brush heads for less. For coffee machines, TechRadar said Amazon sales are a safe bet for a discount, with many of the biggest brands stocked by the online retailer.
TechRadar's article was framed as guidance for shoppers after years of tracking Amazon Australia promotions. It did not say that every listed product is currently at its lowest price, but it argued that the frequency of discounts makes full-price purchases avoidable for the named brands and categories.
