TechRadar Names Gaming TV Picks for GTA 6 Ahead of Prime Day Deals

In the US, TechRadar listed Amazon savings on Hisense, Samsung, TCL and other brands; Best Buy discounts of up to 50% on LG, TCL and more; and Walmart TVs from as low as $68. In the UK, it cited Amazon deals on LG OLED, Hisense and Samsung; Currys savings of up to £500 on TVs including Sony; Argos TCL and Samsung TVs from £189; and John Lewis offering up to £350 off Sony TVs.

Among the three picks, TechRadar highlighted the LG C6 as an all-round option available in 42- to 83-inch sizes. It carries 4K 165Hz, full VRR including FreeSync and G-Sync, Dolby Vision gaming, ALLM and a range of Game Optimizer settings. TechRadar measured input lag at 9.2ms for 4K 60Hz with Boost activated and 4.7ms for 1080p 120Hz. In testing, it found gaming smooth in Battlefield V and said the C6's bold, dynamic colors and OLED blacks suited both bright and nighttime scenes. The 65-inch model was available at Amazon for $1,499, with a third-party seller listing it at $1,449 while stock was low. In the UK, the 55-inch model had dropped to £1,049 at Richer Sounds, and the 48-inch was reduced from £1,199 to £1,087 at Amazon.

TechRadar also noted a UK deal on the LG C5, saying it lacks the C6's picture accuracy, newer processor and new panel in the 77- and 83-inch sizes but remains an excellent gaming TV. The 48-inch C5 was available at Crampton & Moore for £799, and TechRadar said it had seen the price fluctuate; it listed the 48-inch C5 at PRC Direct for £819, down from £999.

The second highlighted pick was the TCL QM7L, sold as the C7L in the UK. TechRadar described it as a value model that almost reached the heights of TCL's flagship TVs at a much lower price. It said the QM7L may not match the brightness of the step-up QM8L or C8L but delivers great colors, clarity and backlight control. TechRadar said it had not fully tested the C7L, though it expected it to be virtually identical to the QM7L because they share the same SQD mini-LED panel, processor and features. For gaming, the set offers 4K 144Hz, FreeSync Premium Pro, Dolby Vision gaming and ALLM. In testing, TechRadar found the picture crisp and the action smooth in Madden 26 and Star Wars: Outlaws. It also said the QM7L rendered the Batmobile chase in The Batman with clarity, delivered vibrant colors in Coco, and showed good backlight control in a scene from Soul through TCL's Halo Control System.
