TechRadar Posts October 15 Hints and Answers for Quordle, Strands and Connections
TechRadar released hints and answers for Quordle #1725, NYT Strands #956 and NYT Connections #1222 on October 15, 2026.
For Quordle #1725, TechRadar said the four answers contained four different standard vowels and no repeated letters, and none of the letters Q, Z, X or J appeared. None of the four answers began with the same letter. The starting letters were S, E, P and C. The four answers were STALE, EPOCH, PIANO and CORNY. The Daily Sequence answers were CLINK, SAUNA, GREED and SPINY. TechRadar's writer described EPOCH as a weighty word and said using it as a guess felt intelligent.
For NYT Strands #956, the theme was "Sailor's guide." TechRadar listed the clue words GONE, MEAT, GREAT, SOUR, THEN and GRAY. The spangram had 10 letters and touched the top row in the second column and the bottom row in the third column. The answers were BEACON, STAIRCASE, DOME, LANTERN and GALLERY. The spangram was LIGHTHOUSE. TechRadar rated the puzzle Hard and said the writer used one hint, receiving DOME. The previous day's Strands answers for game #955 were BEAUTY, BEAST, FROG, PRINCESS, TORTOISE and HARE, with ONCEUPONATIME as the spangram.
For NYT Connections #1222, TechRadar's group hints were "Keep things edible for longer," "Game achievements," "Sink down to see these" and "Altered geography." The yellow group was WAYS TO PRESERVE FOOD: CURE, DRY, PICKLE and SMOKE. The green group was THINGS YOU CAN SCORE IN SPORTS: BASKET, GOAL, RUN and TOUCHDOWN. The blue group was LOWEST PART: BASE, BOTTOM, FOOT and FOUNDATION. The purple group was LOW LANDFORMS WITH A LETTER CHANGED: CANNON, FORGE, RACINE and VOLLEY. TechRadar rated the puzzle Hard and recorded one mistake, after the writer initially linked PICKLE, BASKET, FOOT and VOLLEY around the idea of "ball." The previous day's Connections answers for game #1221 included FLICKER, SUGGESTION, TRACE and WHIFF; SERVE, SLICE, SMASH and VOLLEY; FLASH, HULK, PUNISHER and THING; and FEED, FIERY, FOMENT and FUMBLE.
TechRadar noted that each puzzle appears at midnight for a player's time zone, meaning some users play "today's game" while others are still on "yesterday's." It also directed readers to separate pages for Wordle, NYT Connections and NYT Strands hints and answers. The guides are published with spoiler warnings.
