TechRadar Publishes Oct. 17 Answers for Quordle, NYT Strands and Connections

In Quordle #1727, TechRadar reported that the four answers were QUARK, ENEMY, SPASM and BLOCK. The puzzle had four different standard vowels, two answers with repeated letters and one of the letters Q, Z, X or J. No two answers began with the same letter; the starting letters were Q, E, S and B. The column described the game as difficult because of the rare Q in QUARK and the S-M combination in SPASM, and said the author completed it while extending a week-long win streak. The Quordle Daily Sequence for the same game number produced FREER, SCALP, CRATE and TOWER.

For NYT Strands #958, TechRadar said the theme was “Quite the crush” and the spangram was FALLINLOVE. The game words were BLUSH, PERSPIRE, BABBLE, FIDGET, GIGGLE and STUMBLE. The spangram had 10 letters and touched the left side in the first row and the right side in the sixth row. Clue words that could unlock the in-game hint system were MUST, FLUSH, MINTS, FIVE, SLOG and LEAF. TechRadar rated the puzzle Hard and said the author used one hint, receiving BLUSH after trying PLUSH and LUSH.

In NYT Connections #1224, TechRadar listed the words BREA, KING, SNAP, PING, STILL, PAZ, SNOW, SHOT, BOHÈME, FIDDLER, ALERT, CHIME, SCALA, HERMIT and DING. The groups were digital notifications: ALERT, CHIME, DING and PING; photo: PRINT, SHOT, SNAP and STILL; kinds of crabs: FIDDLER, HERMIT, KING and SNOW; and LA_____: BOHÈME, BREA, PAZ and SCALA. The column rated the puzzle Easy and reported a perfect score.

TechRadar also noted that each puzzle appears at midnight for the player’s time zone, so some players are always on “today’s” game while others are on “yesterday’s.” The articles link to the preceding day’s answers and direct readers to separate TechRadar columns for Wordle, Connections and Strands. For Quordle, the report also included a list of the previous 20 editions, running from game #1726 on October 16 back to game #1707 on September 27.
