TechRadar Publishes Sept. 25 Answers for Quordle, NYT Strands and Connections

For Quordle #1705, TechRadar said the puzzle contained four different standard vowels, two answers with repeated letters, no Q, Z, X or J, and two answers that begin with the same letter. The starting letters were S, F, G and G. The answers were SWEAR, FLOOD, GUPPY and GROAN. The Quordle Daily Sequence for game #1705 produced CAROL, RAVEN, PARER and PERKY. The column described the main puzzle as a close call, noting that GUPPY was difficult to find even with only nine letters remaining, and that gummy seemed a more likely word.

For NYT Strands #936, the theme was '1x1, etc…' and the spangram had 12 letters and touched the left side of the board at the fourth and fifth rows. The answers were NINE, TWENTYFIVE, FOUR, EIGHTYONE and THIRTYSIX. The spangram was SQUARENUMBER. TechRadar rated the puzzle Easy and reported a Perfect score. The column noted that the puzzle missed SIXTEEN and skipped ahead before returning with EIGHTYONE.

For NYT Connections #1202, the words included RATHER, BOUGIE, GENIUS, SPRING, BORDER, RATCHET, SWANK, SAVAGE, CLASSY, LEVY, PENDULUM, FANCY, ESCAPEMENT, POSH, FOAMILY and AYKROYD. The yellow group was LUXE: BOUGIE, FANCY, POSH and SWANK. The green group was PARTS OF A MECHANICAL CLOCK: ESCAPEMENT, PENDULUM, RATCHET and SPRING. The blue group was FAMOUS DANS: AYKROYD, LEVY, RATHER and SAVAGE. The purple group was TAXONOMIC RANKS PLUS A LETTER: BORDER, CLASSY, FOAMILY and GENIUS. TechRadar rated it Hard and reported a Perfect score. The column said AYKROYD pointed toward famous Dans, while SAVAGE was Dan Savage.

Quordle, one of the early Wordle alternatives, has now passed 1,500 games. NYT Strands is part of the New York Times games portfolio, while Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four. The columns also link to previous days' answers and to Wordle coverage.
