TechRadar Publishes Sept. 27 Word Puzzle Hints and Answers for Quordle, Connections and Strands

For Quordle #1707, the four answers are VALET, CHEST, VIGIL and PUREE, according to TechRadar. The same guide lists the Quordle Daily Sequence #1707 answers as STRAW, OVERT, FEWER and SAINT. Before the answers, TechRadar offered five hints: the game contained four different standard vowels, one answer had a repeated letter, none of Q, Z, X or J appeared, two answers began with the same letter, and the starting letters were V, C, V and P. The guide's author wrote that he took the game very slowly and was particularly pleased to get VALET because the letter V had previously been a blind spot. His only risk, he wrote, was guessing PUREE instead of purge, a choice that turned out well.

For NYT Connections #1204, the 16 words were WU-TANG, CARRIER, HOMING, BOOTH, STOOL, MARBLE, BBQING, OPERATOR, CLAY, BANQUETTE, NETWORK, CHAIR, LOHAN, BRONZE, PROVIDER and PLASTER. TechRadar reported the groups as: Yellow, sculpture media, with BRONZE, CLAY, MARBLE and PLASTER; Green, restaurant seating options, with BANQUETTE, BOOTH, CHAIR and STOOL; Blue, telecom, with CARRIER, NETWORK, OPERATOR and PROVIDER; and Purple, ending in Chinese dynasties, with BBQING, HOMING, LOHAN and WU-TANG. The guide rated Connections #1204 as Easy and the author recorded a Perfect score.

The Connections write-up described the puzzle as a relaxing end to the weekend without controversy. It said red herrings were hard to see, although the author briefly wondered whether Lindsey Lohan had any connection to the Wu-Tang Clan. The author began with restaurant seating options and called the banquette a favorite seating choice, while describing the stool as something chosen only without a better option.

For NYT Strands #938, the theme was It's skin deep. TechRadar listed the clue words SUET, CLEAR, TRACE, STIR, RAISE, ROUTE and NOSE. It said the spangram has 10 letters and touches the left side at the fifth row and the right side at the fourth row. The answers are SUNSCREEN, MOISTURIZER, CLEANSER, SERUM and TONER, with BEAUTYCARE as the spangram. The guide rated the puzzle Easy and the author recorded a Perfect score.

The Strands author wrote that SUNSCREEN was impossible to ignore in the top left corner, then found MOISTURIZER and realized those two finds had exhausted his knowledge of skincare products. Those finds opened up the spangram and CLEANSER, but SERUM and TONER, both five letters long, took a long time to uncover.

TechRadar also included the previous day's solutions. For Quordle #1706 on Saturday, September 26, the answers were SNORT, BIBLE, LAPSE and CRANE. For NYT Connections #1203, the groups were breath fresheners, things done to a dress shirt at the laundry, features of wood, and cool things in expressions. For NYT Strands #937, the answers were BREEZE, ZEPHYR, GUST, WHIFF, PUFF, FLURRY and CURRENT, with GENTLEWIND as the spangram.
