TechRadar recommends NordPass as Roblox phishing kits spread; Family plan cut to $68

TechRadar's security expert recommends NordPass amid a Roblox phishing surge; the Family plan is discounted to $68 for 27 months.

The recommendation followed coverage of scammers who buy ready-made phishing kits designed to steal passwords and two-factor codes. According to TechRadar, researchers found 196 Roblox phishing addresses active in a single week in July. The fake login pages copy Roblox's layout and also ask users to enter six-digit two-factor codes and account PINs.

Ben's advice rests on how a password manager behaves. A manager only autofills a login on the address it saved, so a lookalike site that fails to trigger autofill gives the user a chance to spot the trick. A unique generated password for each account also means one stolen login cannot unlock the rest, TechRadar said. The publication noted that a password manager does not replace two-step verification, which Roblox also recommends switching on.

TechRadar said NordPass comes from the same company as NordVPN, whose researchers uncovered the scam service. Its own NordPass review found the product accessible, competent and easy to use, with strong security, passkey support and a free tier.

On price, TechRadar said the NordPass Family plan with three extra months free is now $68, down from $162, in the United States and £52, down from £122, in the United Kingdom. The Family plan covers six user accounts and includes autosave, autofill, the Data Breach Scanner, Password Health checks and file attachments across devices. The price covers the first 27 months, or 24 months plus three free months, at $2.49 a month, excludes VAT and includes a 30-day money-back guarantee. TechRadar put the 27-month total at $67.23 against a list price of $161.73, a 58% reduction, and said the effective monthly figure is below the $2.79 a month charged on the two-year plan when it last tested NordPass. The discount applies to the first 27 months only, and TechRadar advised checking the renewal price before signing up. Discounts are also listed across the Personal and Business plans.

TechRadar's buying guidance was conditional. It recommended the Family plan for parents and families who want their social, email and gaming accounts protected under one subscription covering up to six people. It advised against it for a single user, who could pay less for Premium, for anyone already satisfied with an existing password manager, or for anyone expecting the software to stop phishing by itself rather than noticing when autofill does not appear.
