TechRadar Review: Anker Nano 45W Smart Display Charger Is Compact and Reliable, but Limited to One Port

TechRadar's review calls the Anker Nano 45W Smart Display Charger a compact, reliable USB-C charger with a playful, informative display and temperature-protecting Care Mode. It charges a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE in about 80 minutes, but its single port and 45W output limit use with 100W phones. Price: $39.99/£34.99.

According to TechRadar, the display is the model's main selling point. It shows a small charging character that reacts to charging status and temperature, and a button beside the screen lets users view power output and temperature. The screen also controls Care Mode, which TechRadar says keeps the charger about 20°C cooler than international safety limits allow and the connected device's battery about 5°C cooler. The review says this feature can help protect long-term battery health.

TechRadar found the charger stayed cool in use despite its small size. Its dimensions are 3 x 1.4 x 1.3 inches, or 77.3 x 35.8 x 34mm, and the review says its footprint is considerably smaller than many 45W chargers, making it suitable for tight spaces and travel. The UK variant tested does not have foldable prongs, which TechRadar says makes pocket storage less comfortable; the US variant folds fully.

Performance was consistent in the review. TechRadar used the charger to bring a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE with a 4,700mAh battery from 0% to full in about 80 minutes. The charger could not charge the reviewer's Xiaomi 17 at maximum capacity because that phone supports 100W wired charging. TechRadar says users with similarly advanced charging needs may want a higher-output model such as the Anker Prime 100W GaN Wall Charger.

The Nano 45W has a single USB-C port, so it can charge only one device at a time. TechRadar says that is fine for a simple phone charger, but users who want to charge a phone and another device simultaneously may prefer a multi-port option such as the UGreen Nexode Charger 65W with Retractable USB-C Cable.

TechRadar highlights the charger's dynamic, three-stage charging, with Fast, Steady and Trickle modes that automatically supply power in a managed way. It also includes smart device recognition for iPhones, allowing the charger to identify a specific iPhone model and show it on the screen. Free updates are planned to recognize upcoming iPhone models, according to the review.

The charger comes in several colors intended to mirror the iPhone 17 line. TechRadar tested the Orange model and described it as bold, eye-catching and well built. The price is $39.99 / £34.99, about AU$55, which the review calls fair for the quality and performance, though not cheap.

TechRadar's verdict is that the Anker Nano 45W Smart Display Charger is a solid, consistent and visually distinctive option. It is not the most powerful charger on the market, but the review recommends it for users who need 45W and are satisfied with a single USB-C port.
