TechRadar review: Antigravity A1 Follow Me Bundle adds hands-free control to 360 drone
TechRadar finds the Antigravity A1 Follow Me Bundle's tracking and gesture controls reliable, but flags cost and weight.
The Antigravity A1 launched in 2025 as the world's first 360-degree drone, according to the review. DJI's Avata 360 was released shortly afterward, and the two models remain the only 360-degree drones currently available. TechRadar said their different designs offer slightly different propositions for drone pilots. The A1 looks like a camera drone but carries top and bottom 360-degree cameras; its standard kit uses FPV goggles and a Motion Controller, allowing users to fly immersively and look around while flying. The Avata 360 can also be flown with a standard drone controller, while the A1 still lacks one, the review said.
The Follow Me Bundle is designed to expand the A1's functionality and creative options. It removes the need to use the A1's FPV goggles and Motion Controller for flight, TechRadar said, and enables hands-free shooting. The bundle includes a Watch Remote and a Ring Remote. The Watch Remote is used to set the flight mode, initiate take-off and landing, trigger Return to Home, make basic position adjustments and select the subject to be tracked. It has built-in GNSS for greater precision during fast-paced activities such as cycling, a 1.72-inch LCD screen and IP67 water resistance. The Ring Remote supports a Drag-to-Fly feature: the user presses and holds a button and moves the hand and arm to adjust the drone's flight position and fine-tune tracking distance. It fits finger circumferences of 46 to 70mm and also offers IP67 water resistance.
The bundle also adds one-tap cinematic shots and advanced subject-tracking modes. TechRadar listed the automated flight patterns as Fly Away, Antigravity Line, Ascend, Oval Orbit, Spiral Ascent, Arc Shot and Arc Out. The tracking modes are Manual Mode, Deep Track, Orbit Follow, Cycling Track and Ski Track. The review said the automated patterns can feel repetitive after a while but are fun to try, while the tracking modes are the most interesting addition. TechRadar's reviewer had the A1 track them while running, skateboarding and cycling through complex environments, including between and under trees, and said the drone maintained tracking throughout. Footage can also be reframed and given effects in Antigravity Studio, the review said.
TechRadar said the subject-tracking modes and one-tap cinematic shots performed very well, but the tracking capabilities are arguably similar to those of the much less expensive DJI Neo 2. The A1's advantage is that it captures 360-degree video, the review said. The main downsides of the bundle are its cost and the lack of a standard controller. TechRadar also said the propeller guards increase the drone's weight from 249g to 351g, making the A1 slightly more restricted when the accessory is used, and make the drone large. The review listed dual 1/1.28-inch sensors and video capture up to 8K.
Editor's Summary
TechRadar's review says the Follow Me Bundle makes the Antigravity A1 easier to use for hands-free tracking and automated shots while preserving its 360-degree capture advantage. The kit also brings extra cost, no standard controller and a weight increase when prop guards are fitted. The review presents it as a creative tool with reliable tracking, though DJI's cheaper Neo 2 offers comparable tracking without 360-degree video.
