TechRadar Review Finds Belkin Switch 2 Travel Bag Spacious and Comfortable, but Soft Shell Limits Protection

TechRadar's Oct. 4, 2026 review of the Belkin Travel Bag for Nintendo Switch 2 praises its comfortable sling design, ample compartments and quality materials, while flagging a soft shell, fewer game card slots and a sagging netted pocket.

The review says the bag is designed to carry the console and its accessories comfortably, with some protection from the elements. TechRadar describes the design as plain: the outer material has slight ruching for a rugged look, and the green and lilac colorways are livelier than the black version, but there is little branding or fanfare. That utilitarian approach may disappoint buyers seeking a statement, the review says, while appealing to those who prefer discretion.

Materials are a strength, according to TechRadar. The outer fabric is soft and smooth, and combined with the bag's ergonomic shape and low weight, it sits comfortably against the back. TechRadar compares the feel to outdoor kit lining, though it notes that Belkin does not state that the bag is water- or splashproof.

The shoulder strap is similarly well made. TechRadar says it feels smooth and comfortable and did not dig into the reviewer's collarbone despite lacking a padded cover. It offers enough adjustment for a wide range of heights and preferences, although the buckle can sometimes be hard to adjust, a trade-off the review accepts for a secure fit. Two fastening points at the bottom let users wear the bag over either shoulder. The strap ends in a plastic carabiner that the review describes as strong and secure but easy to unhook because of the angled mechanism. A slightly padded top carry handle is soft in the hand.

The main compartment has enough room for multiple accessories, including the Nintendo Switch 2 dock, controllers, power cables and more, TechRadar says. Its wide opening and zips that run almost the entire length of both sides make access easy; the zips operate smoothly and rarely snagged in testing.

Inside the main compartment are three other sections. One is for the console and is lined with soft felt to prevent screen scuffs and scratches. A hook-and-loop strap over the top is quite slack even with Joy-Cons attached, but the pouch itself fits snugly enough to hold the console in place, the review says. TechRadar adds that the slack allows the console to be stored with bulkier third-party controllers attached; the reviewer fit it with CRKD's Nitro Deck 2 attached.

Attached to the outside of the console compartment is another compartment containing an easily removable game card sleeve. It holds 10 cards, fewer than some alternatives, TechRadar says, citing Turtle Beach's PlayTrek 2-in-1 case with 14 slots and PlayTrek travel case with 12. The compartment is not felt-lined but uses a soft material. The pouch inside has limited room, and bulky items would reduce the space available for the adjacent console compartment, according to the review.

Opposite that section, netting is more suitable for cables, power adapters and both Joy-Con 2 controllers, though probably not all at once, TechRadar says. The netting expands but tends to sag when fully loaded, even with light items, and pointed objects such as paper manuals can poke through its holes, a minor issue the review still flags.

On the outside, a simple front zip pocket runs almost the entire length of the bag and is roomy enough for a few larger items, but not for something like the dock. On protection, TechRadar notes that the bag has a fair amount of cushioning on the bottom. The review concludes that the soft shell is hardly the last word in protection, and lists that as a drawback alongside the lower game card capacity and the sagging netted compartment.

TechRadar's reasons to buy include comfort when worn over either shoulder, a surprising amount of space and compartments, and strong material and zip quality. Its reasons to avoid are the lack of hard-case-level protection, fewer game card slots than some rivals, and the netted compartment's tendency to sag. The review says that for carrying the console and numerous accessories over the shoulder in comfort, Belkin's offering is hard to top.
