TechRadar review finds Soundpeats Pop Clip2 strong on sound and price, weak on connectivity

TechRadar's review of the Soundpeats Pop Clip2 finds excellent sound, comfort, long battery life and a low price, but persistent connectivity and charging-case problems prevent a full recommendation.

The Pop Clip2 were unveiled on Aug. 10, 2026, nine months after the Soundpeats Clip1. TechRadar reported launch prices of $49.99 in the US, £59.99 in the UK and AU$70 in Australia, down from $69.99, £74.99 and AU$79.99 for the previous model. Two weeks after release, TechRadar found them selling for £36 in the UK. The buds are also sold under the name Soundpeats UU2 in some markets, and TechRadar said the brand uses both names in many countries, which it called confusing.

TechRadar said the Pop Clip2 are among the best-sounding clip-style earbuds it has tested. It described a simple V-shaped sound with bass that has oomph and tone, plus clear, crisp treble. The review said they avoid the audio problems common to this form factor. The specs include 12mm drivers, no active noise cancellation, 10 hours of battery life in the buds and 42 hours with the charging case, and weights of 5.1g for the buds and 47.7g for the case. The review also praised the fit, longer-than-most-rivals battery life and features including spatial audio, sound leak prevention and water drainage.

The review listed rampant connectivity woes, case breaking problems and the confusing dual name among the cons. TechRadar said the charging case did not reliably power up the buds, and that sometimes the buds were drained when removed. Its biggest complaint was connectivity: the buds often failed to connect to a phone or repeatedly dropped out during runs. At times, the reviewer used the recently reviewed Baseus Bowie MC2 instead of fighting with the Pop Clip2 for cycling or running.

TechRadar said the problems were persistent but not consistent. The reviewer frequently went for hours without a connection drop and listened at a desk for three hours straight without trouble, but expected the buds to be less reliable outdoors. The review said it could not recommend the Pop Clip2 whole-heartedly because of the issues, though it added that user experience may vary and the brand could fix some connection problems through software patches.
