TechRadar Spotlights WiiM Hi-Res Multi-Room Speaker Deals as Prime Day Ends

The headline discount is on the WiiM Sound, which TechRadar said is now $239.20 in the US, down from $299, and £249 in the UK, down from £299. The article said the US price is the lowest seen for the speaker, according to its price trackers. The smaller WiiM Sound Lite, which lacks the touchscreen but remains larger than a Sonos Era 100, is now $183 in the US, down from $229, and £189 in the UK, down from £229. TechRadar said the Sound Lite is still a larger speaker than the Sonos Era 100 and was clearly intended to rival it.

TechRadar's writer said they heard the speakers shortly after their release last summer, both as a stereo pair and as rear channels in a home cinema setup that also included the WiiM Sub Pro and Elipson Prestige Facet II 24F passive towers. They watched a key section of Dune: Part 2 and said that, purely because of the independent volume readings on each WiiM Sound's screen, they preferred the setup to using Sonos Era 100s in a similar configuration. The WiiM Sound is available in black or white, and TechRadar's review highlighted its detailed sound and touchscreen.

Beyond the two speakers, the roundup covers other WiiM products. The WiiM Pro Music Streamer adds AirPlay 2 and Google Cast streaming to existing speakers, with support for up to 24-bit/192 kHz music on both digital and analog outputs through its digital optical or coax output. The WiiM Sub Pro is a wireless subwoofer with WiiM's Roomfit Bass technology; TechRadar said users plug it in, get it online, tap RoomFit in the app, stay quiet and let AI dial in bass for the listening room. They can then select their main WiiM speakers or amp in the app, or use an RCA sub-out, to create a sub-enhanced system.

In the UK section, TechRadar highlighted a deal on the WiiM Amp Ultra, a powerful streaming amplifier with a small footprint and extensive connectivity. The article said there is no corresponding US deal. It cited a colleague's earlier ode to the WiiM Amp Ultra, in which he called it "an amazing streaming amp for this price," praised its solid metal finish and wrote that "most importantly, it sounds excellent, and there's support for nearly every music service you could want."

TechRadar also detailed the WiiM Sound Lite's connectivity, including hi-res 24-bit/192 kHz playback, Google Cast and Alexa multi-room systems, and direct streaming from services such as Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, TIDAL, Qobuz and Deezer. It noted a 3.5mm jack input for external audio gear. The publication said WiiM has been a name to watch for some time, its products have rated highly in its reviews and its lineup is only expanding. It added that at these prices, some of which are new lowest-seen fees, they are well worth investing in.
