TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition: A design partnership beyond a logo

TECNO and Tonino Lamborghini's limited-edition POVA 8 Pro 5G blends Italian design with gaming hardware and custom software.

The report explains that Tonino Lamborghini, founded by Dr. Tonino Lamborghini of the Lamborghini family, has spent more than four decades building an Italian lifestyle brand spanning watches, eyewear, hospitality and luxury living. TECNO's POVA series has built its identity around youthful energy, unconventional design and performance. Dr. Tonino Lamborghini described the phone as a reflection of “precision, energy, craftsmanship and an unmistakable design attitude,” adding that it is “not a style applied on the surface, but a character running through the product itself.” Jack Guo, general manager of TECNO, said the launch was a defining moment and that the partnership shaped the design, the interface, the configurations and even the AI running through the phone.

The rear panel was built with a dual-layer stacking process, which gives the black-and-red finish a visual depth that shifts depending on how light hits it. Design elements include the Pulse Line, meant to express speed and kinetic energy, and the hexagonal Signature Shield, inspired by Tonino Lamborghini's shield identity. When the phone is tilted, a red flush appears and recedes across the panel. The Alive Matrix Display on the back cover uses a customized “L” effect at power-on and supports around 50 scenarios covering smart notifications, gaming sync, device status and interactive mini-games. A One-Tap button gives access to those mini-games, customizable gaming shortcuts and instant camera access.

The camera area has a red trim echoing the design language and a metallic engraving of the Tonino Lamborghini logo. The phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i panels and is rated IP69K/IP69/IP68/IP66 for dust and water resistance. On the software side, it includes a Pulse Line-inspired boot animation, a reworked lock screen and live wallpaper, custom icons and a bespoke ringtone.

Under the shell, the phone packs a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor paired with TECNO's P1 Graphic Chip, which supports game refresh rates up to 144Hz, along with a cooling system designed for longer sessions. A 6,500mAh battery powers the phone inside a 7.39mm-thin body. The 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display runs an adaptive refresh rate up to 144Hz and peaks at 4,500 nits.
