TECNO shows 0mm bezel concept phone at IFA 2026, claiming it beats Apple to the punch

TECNO has unveiled a concept Android phone with a 0mm bezel at IFA 2026, showing a design that could reach markets before Apple's reported zero-bezel device.

The phone's 6.7-inch 144Hz display appears to run directly into the frame. TECNO said the effect is achieved by changing how the display is assembled: a dual-layer cover glass has a lower layer extending underneath the frame, and the display is inserted from the rear. A custom adhesive secures the extended glass to the frame, hiding the inactive area and assembly space normally seen as a black border. Given the nature of the demo, a tiny edge may still be visible at an angle, but the overall look is similar to an infinity pool, making the device striking.

The concept hardware is based on an existing TECNO phone with a Dimensity 7300e chip, a 6,000mAh battery and Android 16. At the IFA ShowStoppers booth, TECNO said the internals are secondary, serving mainly to demonstrate the display concept. The test unit had a subtle 3D flower pattern etched into its white rear panel, and a configurable physical One-Tap Button is included as part of TECNO's broader AI ambitions.

This is not TECNO's first far-out concept. The company has previously shown a rollable phone, a tri-fold and an ultra-thin modular phone at MWC 2026. The new bezelless design does not fundamentally change what a smartphone screen can do, but it does make the device feel more futuristic, according to Android Authority.
