Tesla to Roll Out FSD Supervised in Czech Republic After Provisional Approval
The Czech Ministry of Transport has granted provisional approval for Tesla's FSD Supervised, making the country the seventh in Europe to allow the driver assistance system on its roads.
Tesla's official Europe account on X said the company will start making FSD Supervised available to Czech residents soon, without specifying a date.
The Czech transportation agency said its decision was based on the provisional approval issued in April by the RDW, the Dutch auto regulatory authority. The agency said it initially had concerns about how FSD Supervised responds to traffic lights and speed limits, and about how the system ensures that drivers remain attentive and ready to take over control. After months of evaluation and a review of experience from countries where the software was already in use, Czechia became the latest country to approve it.
Czechia joins the Netherlands, which was the first European country to begin the FSD Supervised approval process, as well as Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium and Slovenia in allowing Tesla's driver assistance system.
The electric vehicle maker is still seeking approval in larger European markets. France is currently running tests on FSD Supervised. Tesla hopes eventually to expand the system across the European Union, but it would need support from at least 15 of the 27 member states in a vote that could take place as early as October.
