The Celebrity Traitors 2026 Returns to BBC One and iPlayer With 21 Famous Faces
The Celebrity Traitors returns Oct. 1 on BBC One and iPlayer, with Claudia Winkleman hosting 21 celebrities.
TechRadar reports that Michael Sheen, Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, Maya Jama, Miranda Hart, James Acaster, Joe Lycett, Ross Kemp, Richard E. Grant, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Amol Rajan are among the cast competing for up to £100,000 for charity. The opening episode is described as extra-long and begins at 8 p.m. The series will air two nights a week, on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m.
In the UK, the show is available free on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. According to TechRadar, iPlayer does not require an account or subscription, only a TV licence.
Viewers outside the UK face different arrangements. In the US, The Celebrity Traitors will arrive on Peacock this year, with a release date due to be announced shortly. In Canada, Crave showed the first celebrity run but not until a few months after it aired on BBC One, suggesting a wait for season two; Crave plans start from CA$11.99 a month. In Australia, Paramount Plus is likely to stream season two, but no launch date has been announced, and the free-to-air 10 platform, which has streamed some editions of The Traitors, may show it later, possibly in 2027. In New Zealand, ThreeNow will begin streaming the UK season two on Oct. 4, three days after its UK start.
TechRadar's guide says viewers who are away from home and find the show geo-blocked can use a VPN to access their usual streaming service, provided they do not breach broadcaster terms and conditions. It recommends NordVPN and outlines a process that involves installing the VPN, choosing the relevant location and opening the streaming service. The guide notes that a VPN can help UK residents abroad access BBC iPlayer and can help viewers in other countries reach services such as 10 or their home platforms.
TechRadar also said the 2025 celebrity debut became the year's biggest TV show, and that fans are following social media for the latest news, including reports of a visibly upset star halting filming and speculation that James Blunt may surprise the cast.
