The Party Streams Free on ITVX From October 11; VPN Needed Outside UK
ITVX streams The Party free in the UK from October 11; viewers outside the UK need a VPN, TechRadar says.
According to TechRadar, viewers in the UK do not need an ITVX subscription. They need a valid TV license and must sign up with an email address. New users can register for a free account or download the ITVX app on a mobile device. The service is available on Amazon Fire, Android TV, Android mobile and tablet on Android 7.0 and above, Apple TV with tvOS 14 or later, Google TV, Freely, Freesat, Freeview Play, iOS 14 and above, LG Smart TVs from 2016 to 2024, NOW Smart Sticks and Boxes, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 and above, Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream puck, Virgin Media, YouView, and Xbox One, Series X and Series S.
Outside the UK, ITVX is only available to UK residents with a TV license signed up for the free service, TechRadar reported. Viewers traveling or working in the US, Australia or Canada who want to watch The Party need a VPN, according to the report. TechRadar recommends NordVPN, saying it can unblock ITVX and is currently offered with more than 75% off, a 30-day money-back guarantee and 24/7 support. The guide says users should install the VPN, connect to a United Kingdom server, then go to ITVX, create an account or sign in, and watch The Party free.
The Party follows a celebration that takes a shocking turn. The cast includes Sarah Solemani as Lucy Gilmour, Martin's wife; Joanna Scanlan as Sylvia Gilmour, Martin's mother; Lydia Leonard as Serena Fitzmaurice, Ben's wife; Lindsay Duncan as Lady Katherine Fitzmaurice, Ben's mother; and Douglas Hodge as Lord George Fitzmaurice, Ben's father. Sam Troughton, Sally Scott, Sinéad Matthews, Bally Gill, Amaka Okafor and Rakie Ayola are also listed in the cast. Phoenix Laroche plays Barnaby Fitzmaurice and Tilly Walker plays Cosima Fitzmaurice.
TechRadar describes Martin as a calculated and buttoned-up political journalist whose opinion pieces always seem to favor Ben Fitzmaurice's position. A scholarship boy from South Wales, Martin fell in love with Ben at school and has kept himself in Ben's circle since, remaining loyal despite a secret in their past that caused a seismic shift in their relationship. Ben is described as a confident, charismatic Conservative Party MP born into landed gentry, with eyes on the party leadership. Beneath his charm, the report says, are deeper emotions he has yet to face. When his own impulsive decisions throw everything into disarray at his birthday party, Ben is forced to confront his dark past as the party's hedonism rises.
The five-part drama is based on Elizabeth Day's bestselling novel and adapted by Sarah Solemani, TechRadar reported. Episodes 1 through 5 are available to watch now from Sunday, October 11.
