The Traitors: New Blood and Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 Set U.S. Premieres

The Traitors: New Blood premieres on NBC on Sept. 17 with an all-civilian cast, while Outlander: Blood of My Blood returns for season 2 on STARZ on Sept. 18, with international streaming following on MGM+ and Stan.

The Traitors: New Blood is a civilian edition. Instead of veterans from Big Brother, Survivor, The Challenge and Real Housewives, the cast is made up entirely of everyday Americans. The first season of the flagship U.S. version included some non-experienced players, but this is the first time all contestants are reality TV rookies. TechRadar said non-celebrity editions around the world have generally produced tougher gameplay because the prize money is life-changing for contestants.

Alan Cumming returns as host, presiding over the game of deception and betrayal at Scotland’s Ardross Castle. The format remains the same. The season will air weekly double-bills, and it is unclear how many episodes it will include.

In the U.S., The Traitors: New Blood is streaming exclusively on Peacock for now. New episodes are available on demand the following day. Cord-cutters with NBC access include Sling TV, specifically the Sling Blue package from $46 per month, Fubo from $84.99 and YouTube TV from $82.99 per month after a free trial.

International release dates for The Traitors: New Blood are unconfirmed. TechRadar expects free streams may later become available on 10Play in Australia and BBC iPlayer in the UK. Canada has no release date; Crave may look to avoid a clash with the fourth season of The Traitors Canada. In the UK, the timing on BBC iPlayer is unclear, with previous seasons of the U.S. flagship version arriving anywhere from day-and-date with Peacock to months later. The second season of the UK celebrity edition could mean a longer wait.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 brings back Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater), Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine). The season picks up during the Jacobite Rising of 1715, with the conflict dividing the Scottish Highlands and forcing Brian to fight alongside his father. Creator and showrunner Matthew B. Roberts said the historic uprising will have a huge effect on everybody’s life throughout the season because there will be a battle.

For Ellen and Brian, the joy of being together is short-lived. After escaping Castle Leoch at the end of season 1, they are separated again, this time by war rather than clan politics. Julia and Henry face their own crisis after their attempt to return to the 1920s goes awry. Irvine said the scripts work as a standalone story, but there are many Easter eggs and some very familiar characters show up for longtime fans.

In the U.S., Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 is available on STARZ, whose streaming app carries every episode on demand after its first airing. The service costs $11.99 per month. Cord-cutters can also access the Starz channel through Sling TV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV.

In the UK, season 2 starts Sept. 19 on MGM+ via Amazon Prime Video. In Canada, it airs on STARZ, but STARZ is not available as a standalone streaming service; viewers can get it as a Crave TV add-on starting at $6.99 per month, with a Crave subscription starting at $11.99 per month. In Australia, season 2 is available on Stan from Sept. 19, with subscriptions starting at AU$9.99 per month after a summer price drop.
