TP-Link BE6300 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender Review: Fast, Affordable Way to Eliminate Deadspots

The BE6300 builds on TP-Link’s earlier BE3200 extender, doubling the top speed to 6.3Gbps without doubling the price. It uses only the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz frequency bands, omitting the faster 6.0GHz band found on premium Wi-Fi 7 models. TechRadar says this helps keep the cost down while still providing enough performance for gaming and streaming video, even in areas of a home that suffer from Wi-Fi deadspots.

The review notes that the BE6300 is physically larger than the BE3200, with four antennas and a chunky white rectangular body that plugs directly into a mains socket. Unfolding the antennas extends the height to 261mm, and the 81mm width may block adjacent power sockets. The Ethernet port, located on the right side, runs at 2.5Gbps, and the review suggests using a power strip if space is tight.

A key feature is support for Multi-Link Operation, a Wi-Fi 7 capability that allows compatible devices to transmit data on both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz bands simultaneously for improved performance. The Tether app, which TechRadar calls well designed and easy to use, guides first-time users through setup, helps find the best placement by checking signal strength, and allows management of connected devices, including blocking them at certain times.

TechRadar’s verdict is positive, highlighting the competitive price, easy app, and good performance, while noting the bulky design and lack of 6.0GHz band support as drawbacks. For markets outside the US, a similar model called the BE6500 (RE605BE) is available in the UK and Australia, with a top speed of 6.5Gbps and prices of £188.00 and AU$265.
