In its review, TechRadar awarded the Deco BE65 five stars, citing its Wi-Fi 7 performance, connectivity options, included features and price against competing systems. Each unit provides four 2.5GbE wired ports for connecting devices such as network-attached storage or desktop PCs, and the system offers up to 11Gbps of total throughput, which the outlet said is enough bandwidth for computers, gaming consoles and televisions streaming 4K video. VPN support, parental controls and TP-Link's HomeShield security and network management service are included.

Advanced features, among them advanced parental controls, require a subscription priced at AU$4.99 per month or AU$29.99 per year. The reviewer found the free tier sufficient for most households.

The publication said the aim is not solely higher speeds but steadier, more reliable coverage.

Full use of Wi-Fi 7 requires compatible devices, which TechRadar said remained scarce as of 2026. The outlet added that manufacturers have begun releasing Wi-Fi 8 networking hardware, which it expects to push Wi-Fi 7 equipment prices lower.
