Transfar Opens 300-Plus Industrial Scenarios, Pledges 300 Million Yuan in AI Orders at 40th Anniversary

Transfar Group marked its 40th anniversary by opening more than 300 industrial scenarios and pledging at least 300 million yuan in first-year AI and digital orders to co-create at least 30 projects with AI developers and industry partners.

Transfar Group Chairman Xu Guanju said AI's vitality lies not in the cloud but in industry, and its value lies not only in laboratories but in real scenarios. He described a gap between AI technology teams, which may have first-class technology but cannot always find real industrial scenarios that understand AI, and industrial enterprises, which hold large data sets and scenarios but often lack AI technology capability. Xu said Transfar should “let technology find scenarios, let scenarios embrace technology, and let innovation blossom in industrial soil,” calling this the group's strategic pursuit for its next 40 years. Transfar has businesses in chemical manufacturing, smart logistics, agricultural technology and biotech industrial new cities. Its AI strategy is to advance an AI-based digital system on its existing digital foundation, apply AI to reconstruct business models, promote industry-side AI innovation clustering at Transfar Technology City, and form a “biotech + AI” dual-track innovation ecosystem.

Xu invited partners to co-create an AI ecosystem. Transfar will open more than 300 industrial scenarios and form at least 30 co-creation projects; provide real AI needs and orders; place no less than 300 million yuan in AI and digitalization orders in the first year; use an open competition mechanism to push technology onto production lines and into business operations; open tangible and intangible resources to technology teams; and support innovators through its technology innovation incubation platform, fund system and “dual system” joint incubation model.

Jiang Yongzhu, deputy secretary and district mayor of Xiaoshan District, said Transfar, as an outstanding enterprise that grew locally in Xiaoshan, has spent 40 years deepening its industrial roots. By opening scenarios, providing orders, investing capital and sharing returns, it shows the vision and responsibility of a leading enterprise, reflects the striving spirit of Xiaoshan entrepreneurs, and is a concrete practice of AI technology serving Xiaoshan's industrial transformation, he said. Zhang Manli, deputy director of the Hong Kong SAR Government's Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, said in a video address that Hong Kong is systematically building a full AI industrial chain and a complete innovation ecosystem from basic research to commercial application. Transfar's decision to set up its global headquarters in Hong Kong reflects its recognition of Hong Kong's international business environment and innovation ecosystem, she said, adding that she expects more technology teams to enter Hong Kong and use it as a springboard to global markets.

Transfar Group Vice President Yao Chenpeng released more than 300 AI scenarios across the group's businesses, including an AI chemist, AI unmanned freight intelligent logistics, AI × biotech innovation, and an industry brain for robotics applications. The scenarios cover R&D, production, logistics and services. The group said it aims to redefine next-generation industrial capabilities and, through Transfar Technology City and Transfar Technology platforms, provide scenarios, orders, platforms and capital to cooperate with startup teams, ecosystem partners and scientists, forming replicable and scalable industrial AI capabilities while solving concrete problems.

Chen Miaomiao, assistant president of Transfar Technology City, released the city's AI innovation ecosystem scenarios. Transfar Technology City focuses on deep integration of AI and biotechnology and connects industrial demand, research capability, experimental platforms, pilot conditions, capital resources and market channels. It has built a collaborative system described as “one city, one village, one base, one center”: Transfar Technology City, Transfar Agricultural Innovation Village, a biomanufacturing pilot base and the Hong Kong Innovation Center. The system links project discovery, R&D incubation, scenario validation, pilot scale-up and industrial landing. At the event, Transfar Technology City opened 10 AI scenarios in three categories—AI + pharmaceuticals and medical devices, AI + biomanufacturing, and AI + agriculture—covering AI Scientist virtual research teams, pharmaceutical and device R&D validation, medical device transformation, automated biomanufacturing, process optimization and pilot scale-up, CDMO and scale production, and AI breeding, seedling, planting and operations services. The Hong Kong Innovation Center is intended to use Hong Kong's links to global technology, talent, capital and professional services to move the technology and project discovery window forward, while Xiaoshan in Hangzhou handles incubation, validation, pilot testing and industrialization, exploring a collaborative innovation system of “overseas discovery, domestic incubation and industrial landing.”

Sun Tianshu, a tenured professor at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and director of its AI Digital Transformation Center, said in a keynote speech that the agent revolution is pushing AI from assistive technology to agentic technology. He said the integration of AI and industrial scenarios is the biggest opportunity, and that scenarios, data and agents need AI architects to achieve two-way integration. He announced the launch of an AI Reconfiguring Industry Architect Competition co-initiated with Transfar Group. Zhao Jian, chairman of Zheda Insigma Group, said Transfar is opening scenarios, capital and an incubation system, while Zhejiang University provides technologies such as agent self-evolution, embodied intelligence and AI for science; the two sides are exploring third-generation university-enterprise cooperation driven by scenarios to help Transfar become a global benchmark for AI transformation of traditional enterprises.

In a co-creation partner session, Chen Deben, general manager of Transfar Embodied Intelligence Technology Company; Yu Enyuan, founder and CEO of Neolix; and Cai Jiahong, co-founder and CEO of Anchuang Xinrui and chief scientist for biomanufacturing at Transfar Technology City, shared their practices and explorations. Transfar Group signed research strategic cooperation agreements with Zheda Insigma Group, Zhejiang University Computer Innovation Technology Research Institute, Ruihua Innovation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Dongshi Technology, Zhejiang University City College and Hangzhou Scenario Innovation Center. It also launched scenario co-creation cooperation with partners including Unitree Robotics, China Telecom, Pinggao Group, Neolix, Zero One Automobile, Supcon Technology, Beihang Hangzhou Innovation Research Institute, Mogu IoT and Guanyuan Data. Transfar Technology City started ecosystem co-construction with the Xiaoshan Economic Development Zone Management Committee and companies including Jiaren Semiconductor, Mingri Pilot New Materials, Shangchen Composite Materials, Ruitake and Shengsimai.

The conference ended with a launch ceremony for the Transfar AI Technology Co-creation Ecosystem. In the afternoon, the event held three thematic sub-forums and a closed-door meeting titled “Intelligent Manufacturing Leap: How Industries Break Through Under the AI Wave.” The sub-forum “From Intelligent Discovery to Biomanufacturing” focused on AI and biotechnology integration, including fermentation optimization, AI-accelerated clinical research and AI-enabled new drug creation. The sub-forum “Installing an Industry Brain for Embodied Intelligence” covered embodied intelligence applications such as hand-eye-brain collaboration in grinding and polishing, security scenarios, robot bodies and open-source models, physical AI foundations, silicone bionic skin and touch, and UPE tendon materials. The sub-forum “Digital Foundation in the Intelligent Era” discussed traditional enterprise computing transformation, immersion liquid cooling, space-air-ground integrated computing, enterprise-specific TokenFactory, mixed human and digital labor organizations, and AI security operations.
