The fastest method is to connect a streaming device such as an Amazon Fire TV Stick or Roku Ultra to the monitor’s HDMI port. Once plugged in and powered on, you can access your favorite apps immediately. However, ZDNet advises checking whether the monitor supports High-Bandwidth Digital Copy Protection (HDCP), as some older models may not. Without HDCP compatibility, copy-protected content from streaming services may not play.

For those interested in over-the-air TV, a digital tuner box is required since monitors lack built-in tuners. These devices allow you to receive free local channels, and because OTA signals do not use HDCP protection, they are more likely to work with older monitors.
