tvOS 27.2 set to add screen saver shuffle, sign language and custom Photos options
Apple is set to release tvOS 27.2 next week, adding screen saver shuffle, sign language options in the Apple TV app and custom Photos screen savers, according to 9to5Mac.
The update introduces a Shuffle setting that cycles through all available screen savers regardless of category throughout the day. Apple TV has offered screen savers in categories including Aerials, Memories & Slideshows, Portraits and Snoopy, but users previously had to choose one category, 9to5Mac reported.
In the Apple TV app, select movies and shows will let viewers toggle sign language options inside the player controls. 9to5Mac, citing Sigmund Judge, reported that American Sign Language and British Sign Language are available, expanding accessibility for content in the app.
The update also changes how users set up Photos screen savers. When configuring screen savers in the Memories & Slideshows or Portraits categories, users can now manually select content from an iPhone or iPad, rather than granting access to the full photo library, according to the report.
tvOS 27.2 is available now as a release candidate and is expected to reach all users next week. Apple’s new Apple TV 4K, the fourth-generation model, is due November 13 and will support Siri AI and a new four-speaker HomePod surround sound setup. Siri AI is also coming to the second- and third-generation Apple TV 4K, but it is not included in tvOS 27.2, 9to5Mac reported.
