Ugreen preps HomeAgent AI NAS line, HA100 early-bird at $799
Ugreen's HomeAgent HA100 local-AI NAS is offered through Kickstarter pre-orders ahead of a 2027 retail launch.
The HA100 is priced at $799 in an early-bird offer against a $1,599 manufacturer's suggested retail price, according to TechRadar. The HA100 Pro is listed at $2,699 against $5,399, and the MA100 at $9,999 against $19,999. Ugreen is taking reserve deposits of $50 for the HA100 and HA100 Pro and $200 for the MA100 before the Kickstarter opens on November 17; those reservations carry a 50% discount, TechRadar reported, while early-bird pricing after the campaign starts will be 40% off. The report said full MSRP is expected to become the norm after February 2027, when the Kickstarter ends. Ugreen is bundling the SynCare ID500 Pro camera, with a $149 MSRP, with the HA100 and HA100 Pro, and four 8TB NAS drives with the MA100.
TechRadar described the HA100 as a three-bay NAS with 16GB of RAM and an AI accelerator, along with four PoE LAN ports and an inbuilt microphone. The device can run Qwen 3.5 out of the box, the report said. Its early verdict listed only RAID 0 and RAID 1 support, no upgrade paths, PoE limited to 10/100, and local AI performance that was underwhelming so far as drawbacks. TechRadar also questioned why Ugreen did not simply add voice and vision to an existing NASync model, but said the PoE ports and modular accelerator let the HomeAgent hardware go beyond that approach. It said how useful the device is depends on how far a user has gone with AI and how quickly the platform evolves.
Ugreen's stated aim is to create a bubble of AI away from the internet to handle a variety of agentic tasks, according to the report. Instead of needing regular attention, the HomeAgent's AI is meant to run the NAS and connected peripherals without intervention and tell the user if a problem is beyond its ability to address. The launch ecosystem includes three AI-connected cameras, a smart speaker and a connected colour E-Paper picture frame. TechRadar called the ecosystem modest but said Ugreen will likely expand it.
The HomeAgent line adds another branch to Ugreen's NAS business. TechRadar noted that Ugreen sold its first NAS in 2021 exclusively in China and its global retail products arrived only in 2024. Since the initial five NASync models, the company has released the iDX6011, HD products, GT series updates for the DXP machines, Pro series additions and a new DXP8800 Ultra, bringing the lineup to thirteen NAS devices, the report said. HomeAgent combines some of the development path of the UGOS Pro software with a basic NAS hardware platform, the report added.
TechRadar said the HA100's inclusion of an AI accelerator makes it hard to compare with Ugreen's DXP and iDCX series machines, and that buyers primarily looking for a NAS may not be the target for this range while those more interested in AI might be. It said no other NAS brand is making anything remotely like the product at the moment, although there is some overlap with DGX Spark platforms. The report also said the high-end MA100, which it believes has four drive bays and is built around an Nvidia accelerator, could be a bargain at its Kickstarter price compared with some competing systems, though it did not treat the hands-on as a final review.
Editor's Summary
Ugreen's HomeAgent series places a local AI agent and NAS functions in one device, with the HA100 offered at $799 through a pre-launch Kickstarter discount ahead of a 2027 retail release. TechRadar's hands-on found useful connectivity and out-of-box Qwen 3.5 support but flagged limited RAID options, 10/100 PoE and underwhelming local AI performance. The line expands Ugreen's NAS portfolio and targets users seeking offline AI control of smart-home or business devices.
