Verizon Opens iPhone Duo Preorders With $72.22 Bundle That Includes an Unlimited Plan

Verizon has started taking preorders for Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, offering the device and an unlimited line for $72.22 a month with no trade-in required, according to TechRadar. Customers on myPlan can instead take a $1,000 trade-in rebate.

The promotion is tied to Verizon's new Simplicity plan, an all-in-one package that combines the device with an unlimited line for a flat monthly fee. TechRadar reported that Verizon's product page lists the bundle at a $30 monthly saving, down from $105.55. The Simplicity plan also allows customers to upgrade their phone every year.

Verizon is additionally including a choice of an Apple Watch Series 12 or an iPad at no charge, although TechRadar said buyers would likely still pay for cellular service on those accessory devices.

Customers already on one of the carrier's myPlan unlimited plans have a separate option: a $1,000 rebate on the iPhone Duo with an eligible trade-in. Those customers can also add an iPad or an Apple Watch Series 12 to a myPlan line for an additional monthly charge, according to the report.

The iPhone Duo is Apple's first entry into foldable phones. It carries a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner screen with a matte-like finish intended to reduce the appearance of the crease. Its shorter, wider shape is closer to a passport or a small foldable tablet than the book-style designs sold by Samsung and Google, TechRadar reported.

Inside, the phone uses Apple's A20 Pro chipset and a titanium frame reinforced with ceramic fibres. Apple has added software features including new Liquid Glass animations, widescreen support for popular apps and, for the first time on an iPhone, Apple Pencil compatibility.

The handset leaves out Face ID, a telephoto camera and the Action button, features that TechRadar noted are available on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Verizon has been promoting the Simplicity plans as a simplified all-in-one option, and the iPhone Duo launch offer is among the first bundles built around it.
