vivo Launches X500 Series in Shanghai With BluePrint Dynamic Imaging Stack

At the launch, vivo vice president Huang Tao said the X500 series needed a professional ceiling high enough to become a creator's production tool, and a mass-market threshold low enough for ordinary users to shoot cinematic footage easily.

The BluePrint Dynamic Imaging stack is built around five capabilities: high dynamic range, high signal-to-noise performance, professional stabilization, dynamic consistency and cinematic color. vivo said the system uses coordinated hardware and software to extend mobile imaging from stills into video.

On the sensor side, vivo and Sony jointly defined the BluePrint Guangyu 900 sensor, which vivo said delivers 17EV true output and read noise as low as 0.75e-, a combination it described as a mobile imaging record. The X500 Pro Max is the first device to use the sensor. Its Zeiss Super Dynamic main camera has 3° gimbal-level optical image stabilization, and both the main camera and telephoto reach CIPA 7.0 stabilization.

The X500 Pro Max also carries a 200MP Zeiss APO super telephoto, supports the equivalent 400mm vivo Zeiss Teleconverter G2 Ultra, and introduces 4K 240fps cinematic slow motion and 8K native Live. The telephoto adds 1,536-point multi-zone laser focus across focal lengths, with up to 30x motion capture and telephoto tracking. It runs the BlueCrystal × Dimensity 9600 Pro platform, described in the report as MediaTek's first 2nm flagship chip, paired with vivo's V3+ and VS1 imaging chips. The phone has a 6.85-inch BOE Q11 2K Zeiss Master Color display, an 8000mAh BlueSea battery and OriginOS 7. The X500 Pro has a 6.36-inch Zeiss Master Color display and a 6510mAh BlueSea battery.

Video features on the X500 Pro series include 4K 480fps and 960fps 32x super slow motion, cinematic high-dynamic-range Log, 10-bit 422 APV encoding, ACES color encoding and a DaVinci collaboration for official color conversion. vivo and MediaTek also developed professional Log video hardware for 4K 120fps 10-bit Log direct recording. The series introduces all-focal-length 4K 120fps super video tracking, supports 4K Dolby Vision portrait video, and offers six cinematic color styles: daylight film, cool silver salt, sunny, Paris afterglow, cold shadow and warm light. A Movie mode is designed to produce footage in three steps, with AI highlight editing in the gallery.

The X500 Pro has a Zeiss APO super telephoto with CIPA 7.0 stabilization. The Pro series supports 8K native Live, 4K native cinematic Live, and recording Live while shooting video, according to vivo.

The standard X500 uses the same Sony LYTIA-828 sensor as the X300 Pro for its main camera, with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and Zeiss gimbal-level stabilization. Its telephoto uses the Sony LYTIA-610 sensor, introduced in the X500 Pro, with 64MP resolution, 4K 120fps cinematic slow motion, CIPA 5.5 stabilization and a Green1x1 RB2x2 OCL pixel structure. The X500 supports 4K 120fps slow motion, cinematic color styles, an AI photography assistant with smart mode and composition recommendations, one-click highlight videos, 4K 60fps cinematic portrait video across focal lengths, 4K 120fps 10-bit Log and 4K 120fps HLG. All X500 models offer 8K native Live and 4K native cinematic Live.

vivo also brought its imaging accessories to the standard model. The equivalent 200mm vivo Zeiss Teleconverter G2 weighs 153g, has a 96mm body and covers 14 shooting modes. The vivo Suipai screen has a 3.92-inch touch display, a 5.65mm body, magnetic attachment and remote control within 10 meters.

The X500 runs the BlueCrystal × Dimensity 9600M chip, has a 7500mAh BlueSea battery, a 6.59-inch Zeiss Master Color display, 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. It ships with OriginOS 7, whose Atomic Workbench can run up to five apps in the foreground, and a BlueLM XiaV Pro mode that can plan and execute complex tasks.

Pricing for the X500 is 5,499 yuan, 5,999 yuan and 6,999 yuan. The X500 Pro is priced at 6,499 yuan, 7,499 yuan and 8,499 yuan. The X500 Pro Max is priced at 6,999 yuan, 7,999 yuan, 8,499 yuan and 8,999 yuan. A limited X500 Pro Max Creator Kit costs 12,999 yuan. The phones are available through vivo's official website, e-commerce flagship stores and offline stores.

vivo said its imaging flagship products and technology have been used by CCTV as a new media live technology partner for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala, designated by Xinhua integrated media, and named an imaging technology strategic partner by People's Daily.

Alongside the phones, vivo launched the Buds Clip open-ear earbuds and the WATCH 6 smartwatch. The Buds Clip comes in moonlight white, floating light purple and starry night black, weighs about 5.2g per earbud, uses a 4L dual parallel voice coil and a 12mm driver, supports bone-conduction AI call noise reduction, tri-connect across ecosystems and 42 hours of battery life. It costs 699 yuan for the wired charging version and 799 yuan for the wireless charging version. The WATCH 6 comes in original color, wilderness and moonlight, uses sapphire glass across the line, measures 9.5mm thick, and weighs about 37g in titanium. It supports running and cycling guidance, five-star dual-band GNSS, more than 100 sports modes, one-click sports recap videos, a 60-second health check, a fat-loss assistant and smart suggestions. Battery life reaches up to 21 days in light Bluetooth use. Prices are 999 yuan for the stainless steel Bluetooth version, 1,399 yuan for the stainless steel eSIM version and 1,999 yuan for the titanium eSIM original color version.
