Volkanovski Defends Featherweight Title Against Evloev at UFC 333

Volkanovski defends UFC featherweight title vs Evloev at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi; Paramount+ and TNT Sports carry the event.

The 38-year-old Australian enters the bout with retirement rumors swirling, according to the report. A win would be his ninth for the Featherweight Championship. Volkanovski lost the belt to Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 in February 2024, but Topuria’s move up to lightweight gave Volkanovski a chance to reclaim gold by beating Diego Lopes in back-to-back fights, TechRadar states. The report describes Volkanovski as arguably more complete than any other fighter to step inside the Octagon, while adding that at 38 he may be nearing the end and that Evloev represents a real test.

Evloev, 32, is in his first UFC title matchup in his 21st career fight after beginning his MMA career with M-1 Global in his native Russia. TechRadar describes him as a solid striker with a supreme engine who frequently outlasts opponents through stellar conditioning; his last stoppage came 10 fights ago in July 2018 during his M-1 Global days. Such unbeaten records are rare at this level, the report says, and he will have to be taken seriously.

The card also includes Petr Yan defending his UFC Bantamweight Championship against Merab Dvalishvili, according to TechRadar.

In the US, Paramount Plus will show UFC 333 in its entirety, with the Volkanovski-Evloev bout expected to start earlier than usual at around 6pm ET / 3pm PT. Plans start at $8.99 per month for the Essential Plan or $13.99 per month for Premium, the report says. Early Prelims are available via UFC Fight Pass, and TechRadar notes a $1 Paramount Plus trial through Walmart+.

In the UK, the main card is on TNT Sports 2 at 10pm BST on Saturday. Viewers can add TNT Sports to Sky, Virgin Media or EE TV packages, or pay from £25.99 per month for an HBO Max plan that includes TNT Sports, while Fight Pass carries the Prelims and Early Prelims. In Canada, Sportsnet, Bell and UFC Fight Pass offer the whole event at a PPV price of $69.99; Prelims are also on Sportsnet and TVA Sports, and Early Prelims on UFC Fight Pass. In Australia, the main card is on PPV for AU$59.95 through Foxtel Main Event or Kayo Sports Main Event on Sunday and can be streamed via web browsers and devices including Android, iOS, Samsung TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Telstra TV and Chromecast. Prelims, but not the main event, are available via Paramount+ and free-to-air Network 10.

TechRadar says viewers outside their home country can use a VPN such as Surfshark to make devices appear to be back home and access services such as Paramount+. The report says there is no straightforward free option beyond the Walmart+ trial it describes.
