Walmart cuts Pikmin 4 to $39.88 ahead of $10 Switch 2 upgrade

Walmart discounts digital Pikmin 4 to $39.88, ahead of a $10 Switch 2 upgrade launching Nov. 12.

The Verge said its colleague Sheena Vasani spotted the discount. Pikmin 4 follows the puzzle formula of earlier games in the series and adds a dog companion that introduces another layer of complexity and action; it also goes deeper into the darker undertones earlier titles hinted at.

Nintendo has announced that the Switch 2 version of Pikmin 4 will launch on Nov. 12, 2026. That edition will have polished visuals, add voice commands for the dog companion and include a new mode called Dandori Academy, which adds extra challenges over time.

Players will be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 version for $10, according to the report. The $10 upgrade saves $20 compared with buying the $69.99 Switch 2 Edition outright, The Verge said.
