watchOS 27.2 is expected next month with new Apple Watch features. In the current watchOS implementation, taking a screenshot only makes the screen flash and then saves the image to the Photos library. The new flow found in the beta imitates what is already available on iPhone and iPad, where users can choose to share or delete a screenshot immediately after it is taken.

pdfu has recently shared several findings from Apple code. According to 9to5Mac, he was the first to discover the Readiness app in watchOS 27 and yesterday leaked the user interface for Siri AI on HomePod. The screenshot discovery is the latest item from the same watchOS 27.2 beta.

Apple has not announced the screenshot change or confirmed that it will ship. It is unclear whether the company plans to implement the feature in a forthcoming watchOS 27.2 beta or whether the work needs more development time, the report says. If the feature does not make watchOS 27.2, 9to5Mac reports that it is still likely to arrive on the Apple Watch in the near future.
