Wear OS users say Gemini now fails to control smart home devices
Wear OS users report Gemini falsely claims to complete smart home tasks on smartwatches, while phone and speaker controls still work.
Dozens of Wear OS users on Reddit reported the issue. The original poster said the error occurred across all of their smart devices, including lights, an air conditioner, a vacuum, and more.
Based on the reports, Gemini appears to have no problem controlling devices when a phone or a smart speaker is used.
Android Authority points out that Google recently rolled out an update to Gemini for Home that expanded the range of voice commands across media and home device controls, also allowing users to combine media commands with other types. The same period seems to have coincided with the loss of this crucial ability for some Wear OS users.
