Webroot cuts antivirus plan prices by up to 50%, one-device cover starts at $34.99 a year

Webroot is discounting its antivirus subscriptions by up to 50%, with one-device protection from $34.99 a year and five-device cover at $64.99 a year, according to TechRadar.

The same report said cover for five devices costs $64.99 a year, and that Webroot sells three tiers of subscription — Essentials, Premium and Total Protection — with differing features across them. A three-device option sits between the one-device and five-device plans. TechRadar directed readers to Webroot's website for a full breakdown of what each tier includes.

TechRadar said it reviewed Webroot's antivirus software last year and gave it four stars, citing its speed, its feature set and a dedicated password manager. The review described the software as "small, speedy, and efficient" with "a stack of surprising extras".

The publication also said Webroot placed first in the July 2025 PassMark study, a benchmark of antivirus products.

According to TechRadar, Webroot is a cloud-based antivirus product that runs on PCs, Macs, tablets, Chromebooks and smartphones. Password Manager and Web Threat Shield are included in the packages, and the software is positioned against viruses, ransomware and phishing.

TechRadar framed the discount against a wider set of online risks, saying users once mainly had to worry about viruses while identity theft and other threats are now part of the picture. It said the discounted plans are intended to cover browsing, banking, shopping, sharing, gaming and working.
