WhatsApp expands Liquid Glass redesign to drawing editor and video player on iOS

Earlier this year, WhatsApp broadly rolled out its initial Liquid Glass revamp after more than six months of testing. At the time, the company was also working on bringing the design to elements such as the voice message player, message reactions, and context menus, though those changes remained limited to its beta app.

Now, as reported by WABetaInfo, the latest iOS beta shows WhatsApp preparing to bring the Liquid Glass look and feel to the drawing editor and the video player’s progress bar. The drawing editor lets users annotate or edit photos, videos, and GIFs before sharing, with buttons at the top for adding text, drawings, stickers, and more. WhatsApp is updating these buttons to match the Liquid Glass style. The video player, which displays a progress bar at the top of the screen during playback, is also being updated to use the same design.

While some users have reported that they still have not received the initial Liquid Glass rollout on their iPhones, today’s news reinforces Meta’s broader adoption of the design not only on iOS but also on macOS and iPadOS. WABetaInfo notes that this feature is currently in development and not yet available for beta testing.
