WiCi One, a wireless external GPU, opens preorders at $1,999

WiCi is taking preorders for the WiCi One, an external GPU that links to laptops over Wi-Fi 7 instead of a cable, starting at $1,999 and rising to a $2,599 list price, with first shipments expected in the fourth quarter.

The enclosure holds a dedicated graphics card, a Wi-Fi 7 wireless module and its own cooling system. WiCi's pitch is that users can keep thin, light laptops and still run graphically intensive games or demanding AI workloads. Other external GPU products generally depend on Thunderbolt or OCuLink cables; the WiCi One replaces that link with a wireless connection.

The base configuration carries an Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of memory, an Intel Core 3 100U processor and 1TB of NVMe storage. WiCi also plans a more powerful version built around an RTX 5090 with 32GB, an Intel Core Ultra 7 225H and a 4TB NVMe 5 SSD.

Frame-rate figures come from the company. WiCi said the RTX 5060 Ti model can run Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra settings with DLSS 4 at 80 frames per second, and Black Myth: Wukong at 4K Cinematic settings with DLSS 4 at 60 fps. Outside gaming, WiCi is marketing the WiCi One for heavy AI tasks and for running local AI assistants.

Pricing is set to change after the preorder window. The base model is listed at $1,999 for preorders but will eventually sell for $2,599. WiCi said it expects the first WiCi One units to ship in the fourth quarter of this year, and that it will announce the price of the RTX 5090 variant closer to that model's launch date.
