Wing and Walmart to Bring Drone Deliveries to Denver and Seattle in 2027

Wing and Walmart will bring drone delivery to Denver and Seattle in 2027 as part of a wider US expansion.

Wing and Walmart already offer drone deliveries in five metropolitan areas: Atlanta; Charlotte, North Carolina; Dallas–Fort Worth; Houston; and Orlando, Florida. The companies aim to expand to 14 other destinations, including Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. Denver and Seattle are the latest metro areas named for the service, with 2027 set as the target for operations.

The drones can travel at speeds of up to 60 mph and carry a payload weighing as much as five pounds. When a Walmart order is eligible for drone delivery, customers will see the option on Walmart's app or website. Consumers can also order items through Wing's app.

The Denver and Seattle launches fit into the companies' broader plan to offer air delivery from more than 270 Walmart stores across the US. The announcement named 2027 as the start target for the two metro areas.

The expansion was announced just days after DoorDash revealed more details about its own drone service. DoorDash Air will debut in northern California with partners including Chipotle and Popeyes.
