World Robot Conference Highlights Physical AI as Podcast Report Shows AI Collaboration Boom

According to a report by Leiphone.com, the conference featured over 1,000 robots across a 60,000-square-meter exhibition hall, performing tasks such as cooking, playing ball, delivering coffee, sorting packages, and even cleaning cat litter. The focus of embodied intelligence has shifted from showcasing tricks to real-world operations. The event's inaugural procurement day allowed professional buyers to bring demand lists and directly connect with suppliers.

Xin Guobin, vice minister of industry and information technology, said at the opening ceremony that intelligent robots, as an important carrier of AI moving into the physical world, are empowering various industries at an unprecedented speed. However, Leiphone.com noted that large-scale robot deployment still faces hurdles, including limited interaction data, poor cross-environment generalization, and high costs of key components such as dexterous hands.

At the Volcano Engine Embodied Intelligence Technology and Application Forum during the conference, AIVA President and Product Manager Li Bo argued that AI cars are better positioned than robots to become the entry point for physical AI. He cited three advantages: abundant energy storage, complete sensing and execution systems, and long-term companionship scenarios. AIVA's philosophy is "AI defines the car," meaning the vehicle is designed to grow out of an understanding of humans. Li Bo gave the example of a screen placed where headlights normally sit, called "Smart Eyes," which serves as the car's natural expression.

The Leiphone.com report also said that AIVA's ME7 model is scheduled to debut in 2026. At an earlier brand launch, Li Bo explained how the vehicle learns user habits to adjust temperatures automatically, such as recognizing the difference between 22°C in summer and winter. Volcano Engine and AIVA collaborated from the early product definition stage, using tools like ArkClaw and Trae to improve design and coding efficiency.

Separately, according to a report by QbitAI, Xiaoyuzhou released its "2026 AI Trends Report" on August 22. The report found that AI content creators on the platform grew 187% year-on-year, and related podcast episodes grew 239%. In 2026, searches for "collaborative AI" increased 227%, episode counts grew 290%, and plays increased 207%. Discussions on "AI and creation" saw a 375.8% increase in episodes, while "AI × office" searches grew 105.4% and "AI × entertainment" grew 46.79%.

The report also noted that discussions on human value accumulated 335,000 comments and 12.86 million characters, with 7.2% being long comments. AI practitioners, researchers, and industry leaders are using Xiaoyuzhou for deep dialogues. Searches for AI entrepreneurs and researchers grew 470%, and "AI practitioner" related podcast searches grew 479%. AI-related episodes now account for 14.39% of the technology category, making the platform a "historical record" of AI cycles.

The report attributes the growth to an increasing need for informed judgment amid AI noise. Deep long-form conversations provide context for technical paths and product decisions. Xiaoyuzhou has also launched an offline event series called "Signal Tower" in August to extend these discussions.
