Wyze BodyScan smart scale packs 8-electrode body analysis and a 4.7-inch color display into an $84.98 device, TechRadar review says

TechRadar's review of the Wyze BodyScan finds the $84.98 smart scale delivers segmented muscle and fat readings plus a 4.7-inch color LED display, though its handlebar and app trail pricier rivals.

TechRadar reports that the BodyScan sits just below Wyze's premium BodyScan Ultra and is the brand's most affordable eight-electrode BIA scale. The 4.7-inch color LED screen, mounted at the top of the base unit, is the largest among the scales included in TechRadar's best smart scales buying guide, the review says, and shows seven metrics including weight, BMI, bone mass, protein and body water percentage. Seventeen metrics are tracked in total, with protein, basal metabolism and subcutaneous fat displayed in the Wyze app.

The review places the BodyScan in a market that runs from about $20 for the Vitafit Smart Bathroom Scale up to $599.95, £449.95 or AU$895 for the Withings BodyScan 2. The Wyze device is listed at $84.98, £111 or AU$210 and is sold only in the United States. It requires no subscription, a point TechRadar lists among its reasons to buy.

On hardware, the scale measures 300 by 330.2 by 37.8 millimeters and weighs 1.90 kilograms, with a body made of plastic, silicone and ITO-coated glass, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and power from four 1.5V AAA batteries. The review criticizes the handlebar as budget-quality in its materials and notes that the scale lacks USB-C charging.

The Wyze app draws the sharpest criticism. Because it serves every Wyze product rather than acting as a dedicated smart scale platform, the interface offers little beyond presenting metrics as data and graphs, and TechRadar describes the gap between it and the premium Withings app experience as wide.

Wyze began with cameras and has since expanded into vacuums, lights, locks and a range of affordable smart scales. TechRadar gave the BodyScan a value score of five out of five, stating that at this price point there is nothing better, while adding that the scale offers only a little more than the basics and that users who do not need segmented data could spend around $20 on the Vitafit Smart Bathroom Scale instead.
