Xbox Cloud Gaming pay-as-you-go bundles start at $3.99 for 10 hours
Microsoft will sell Xbox Cloud Gaming time to non-Game Pass users in November, starting at $3.99 for 10 hours.
Starting Oct. 21, Xbox Insiders who do not have Game Pass can buy introductory launch bundles ahead of the broader rollout next month. The prices are $3.99 for 10 hours, $7.99 for 25 hours and $11.99 for 50 hours. All of the cloud hours include ad-free cloud gaming, shorter wait times and higher-quality streaming. The bundles are not monthly packages; once purchased, the hours remain available until they are used.
The paid option arrives just before Grand Theft Auto VI. The Verge reported earlier this month that Microsoft had secured streaming rights for the game, but it is not yet clear whether streaming will be limited to Xbox consoles. Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball said on X that Microsoft will not stream Grand Theft Auto VI to PCs, suggesting that web browsers and apps that usually access Xbox Cloud Gaming will not be able to stream the game.
Microsoft also continues to test free, ad-supported cloud gaming for Xbox Insiders, offering another way to stream games without Game Pass. Those free sessions are limited to games players already own and are capped at one hour.
Editor's Summary Microsoft is expanding Xbox Cloud Gaming beyond Game Pass with paid hourly bundles and a continuing free ad-supported test for Insiders. Introductory pricing ranges from $3.99 for 10 hours to $11.99 for 50 hours, with no monthly expiration. The move comes as Microsoft prepares Grand Theft Auto VI streaming rights, though PC streaming of the game appears to be excluded.
