Xiaomi debuts wide-screen foldable at IFA 2026 with in-house XRing O3 chip

Xiaomi’s IFA showcase included more than 380 products spanning phones, smart-home devices, cars, AI and other technology, as well as the “Human x Car x Home” ecosystem and the European expansion of its Mijia smart-home brand, Android Authority reported. The foldable was displayed in a cherry red finish with a triple-camera setup, the outlet said, and followed weeks of leaks and official renders that appeared a day earlier.

Engadget described the foldable as “passport-style” and said it looked shorter and wider than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. The publication observed Leica lettering on the camera module, suggesting a relatively capable shooter, but said attendees were forbidden from touching the phone and that Xiaomi withheld details such as screen dimensions and camera specifications.

Xiaomi has scheduled a fuller briefing for September 7, when it plans to discuss the XRing 03, which it calls its “Flagship AI SoC,” Engadget reported. Because the chip is in-house, the phone will not rely on silicon from Qualcomm Snapdragon or MediaTek. No further specs or availability have been announced.
