Xiaomi launches Redmi K100 with 10,000mAh battery in China

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K100 in China with a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and 100W fast charging, starting at about $525, according to Android Authority.

Android Authority reported that the K100 has one of the largest batteries in a mid-range smartphone. The phone joins the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max and the recently launched HONOR Win 2 series among devices with a 10,000mAh or larger battery.

The report said smartphone launches have become so common that new models need something special to stand out. It noted that makers once competed over camera megapixels, while battery capacities have grown with nearly every new launch since silicon-carbon batteries arrived. Samsung and Google, by contrast, are still offering 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh batteries, according to Android Authority.
