Xiaomi open-sources MiMO-V2.6 AI models that generate interactive 3D worlds from prompts

Xiaomi has open-sourced MiMO-V2.6 Pro and MiMO-V2.6-Flash, omnimodal models it says can build interactive 3D worlds such as games from text or visual prompts, alongside Windows and Mac desktop apps.

The two models handle textual, visual and video-based applications as well as coding, the report said. MiMO-V2.6 Pro is described as Xiaomi's most capable model to date, while MiMO-V2.6-Flash is built for lower costs and faster responses.

Xiaomi claims MiMO-V2.6 Pro is the most capable open-weight model on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index benchmark. The benchmark ranking was presented by Xiaomi and was not independently verified in the report.

Along with releasing the model weights, Xiaomi said it is making desktop applications for Windows and Mac widely available. The report did not mention mobile apps for the models.

Xiaomi is best known for smartphones, and has expanded into home appliances and, more recently, electric vehicles. The company has also been developing frontier AI models intended to compete with systems from DeepSeek, Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, Android Authority reported. The release of MiMO-V2.6 places Xiaomi among a growing group of hardware makers shipping open-weight models that outside developers can download and run themselves.
