Xiaomi Opens Global HyperOS 4 Beta for Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra, and Leica Leitzphone

Xiaomi has opened global beta recruitment for HyperOS 4 on the Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra, and Leica Leitzphone, with the Xiaomi 17T and 15 series to follow on September 17. The update adds a translucent Soft Light Glass design, stacked widgets, grouped notifications, and a redesigned device hub.

Xiaomi says it is initially recruiting owners of those three devices, Android Authority reported. The beta supports Global and European (EEA) software builds. Applications are available through Xiaomi Community > ME > Beta testing > Recruiting test.

The Xiaomi 17T series and Xiaomi 15 series will become eligible on September 17, according to the report. That expands the beta beyond the first flagship models named in the initial recruitment.

Android Authority reported that Xiaomi split its Android 17 and HyperOS 4 rollout. The company rolled out stable Android 17 to the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in July while keeping them on last year's HyperOS 3 interface. That update laid the foundation for the bigger changes coming with HyperOS 4. Most Android brands bundle Google's latest platform changes with their own features and visual upgrades, but Xiaomi prefers to separate the two, the report said.

The global beta program is now open. Xiaomi's community post lists the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi as the first devices in the recruitment, with Global and European (EEA) builds supported. The HyperOS 4 beta introduces the Soft Light Glass design, stacked widgets, grouped notifications, and a redesigned device hub, Android Authority reported.
