Xreal’s xbx A01 Plus display glasses fall to $254 for October Prime Day

Xreal’s xbx A01 Plus display glasses drop to $254 for October Prime Day, down from $299, but lack 3DoF screen locking.

The glasses’ design and fit are roughly on par with Xreal’s pricier 1S, which costs $399. The A01 Plus do not include the 1S’s built-in three degrees of freedom, a feature that lets users lock the virtual screen in place. Even without that feature, The Verge reported that the current $254 price makes them a more tempting gadget.

Like other display glasses, the A01 Plus connect through USB-C and can mirror the display from a range of devices that support video output, including laptops and gaming handhelds. The Verge’s reviewer said they particularly enjoy using the glasses with a Steam Deck.

The A01 Plus have screens that look great, according to The Verge, though the reviewer, who is nearsighted, needed prescription lenses to make the image appear crisp. HonsVR makes those lenses and charges $50. The glasses are also distinctive because their outer shell can be popped off and replaced with another style. They ship with a blue-tinted shell and a “Lights Out” shell that does a better job of blocking outside light from entering the wearer’s view.

Editor's Summary

Xreal’s xbx A01 Plus display glasses are selling for $254 during October Prime Day, down from their $299 launch price. The model matches the design and fit of the pricier 1S but omits its 3DoF screen-locking feature, while offering USB-C display mirroring and swappable outer shells. The discount lowers the entry point for Xreal’s most affordable display glasses.
