Yijing X9 opens pre-sales at 299,800 yuan, half the price of AITO M9

When asked how the X9 would compete with the M9, a Yijing employee told Aifaner: "Price, our price is roughly half of the M9's." Rather than directly challenging the M9 and Li L9, Yijing aims to lower the entry barrier for a flagship six-seat SUV. The final price is expected to drop further when the car officially launches in September, following industry practice.

The X9 comes standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and CAS 5.0 full-vehicle collision prevention, featuring a four-lidar setup that includes one 896-line dual-optical-path main lidar. Huawei says this system can identify small irregular obstacles as low as 14 centimeters at a distance of 120 meters even in heavy rain or at night. The CAS 5.0 system supports forward AEB braking at speeds up to 130 km/h, emergency steering assist, and side collision avoidance. In scenarios where the driver is incapacitated, the vehicle can automatically pull over, activate SOS, and maintain redundant power supply for unlocking after rescue.

Inside, the X9 features two 17.2-inch 3.4K dual screens with 97% glare reduction, running HarmonySpace 6, the first mass-produced vehicle to use this system. It includes the Xiaoyi AI assistant and a new "Hamon" AI companion robot, similar to NIO's Nomi, which can express emotions through an eye screen and be detached or mounted on rear seats. The HUAWEI XSCENE laser projector can set up a 46-inch outdoor cinema in three minutes, while the 21-speaker HUAWEI SOUND system enables car karaoke without a microphone and low-latency Tencent cloud gaming.

As a full-size SUV measuring 5,301 mm in length with a 3,120 mm wheelbase, the X9 offers 3,294 mm of effective interior length. In a 2+2+2 layout, the third-row seat cushion is 1,101 mm wide with a backrest that reclines up to 133 degrees and large side windows, providing adequate space for a 185 cm adult. Luggage capacity is 484 liters with all six seats occupied, expanding to 1,368 liters when the third row is folded. The cabin also includes 43 storage compartments, including a drain-equipped umbrella slot.

The second-row zero-gravity seats include mechanical massage heads and a high-frequency vibrator for stronger massage, along with a 9-liter dual-open refrigerator that works from -6°C to 50°C. The X9 can switch between queen-style front passenger mode and camping bed mode.

Underneath, the X9 features a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension with 91% aluminum alloy, standard dual-chamber air suspension with 90 mm travel, and electronically controlled damping. A bidirectional 14-degree rear-wheel steering system reduces the turning radius to 5.3 meters for the 5.3-meter-long vehicle. The Huawei Qiankun Chitu platform integrates powertrain, steering, and suspension, allowing the system to pre-adjust damping for bumps and suppress pitching and rolling in comfort mode to reduce motion sickness.

The X9 is powered by a 74.29 kWh CATL battery on an 800V platform, with a CLTC pure electric range of 465 km and a combined range exceeding 1,500 km.

Yijing's strategy is clear: offer over 90% of the core features of the M9 at about half the price. As a new brand, breaking the M9's strong market presence through direct competition would be costly and difficult. Lowering the price is a common approach for challengers, and if the final price brings further surprise in September, the X9 could carve out a place in the 300,000-yuan large six-seat SUV market.
