YouTube and YouTube Music reportedly preparing Liquid Glass redesign and Live Activities support

MacRumors analyst Aaron Perris shared a screenshot on X showing what appear to be newly added feature flags, including one for Liquid Glass. Perris said both Google apps will receive the UI update, although it is unclear which specific app the screenshot comes from.

Google has already introduced Liquid Glass elements in a few of its iOS apps, but other popular Google apps have not received that treatment yet. Liquid Glass is a core part of Apple’s iOS design language, and more third-party apps are expected to adopt it. Android Authority notes that its own survey last year found readers strongly preferred Google’s Material 3 Expressive over Liquid Glass, but that has not prevented adoption.

The newly discovered feature flags suggest the changes are still in development.
