YouTube confirms fix for bug that hid videos from Watch Later playlists

YouTube says it has fixed a bug that hid videos from Watch Later and other playlists, restoring missing videos for affected users.

The problem had affected users for weeks. Reports on YouTube's forum and Reddit showed a range of symptoms. Some users could open Watch Later on their phones but saw only a portion of their saved videos. Others received a 'playlist does not exist' or 'No results found' error when trying to access the playlist.

Users with large collections were hit hardest. One Reddit user said their Watch Later playlist contained about 1,100 videos but they could only scroll through roughly 50 on mobile. On desktop, the same playlist appeared to be completely broken. Another user said their Watch Later playlists had disappeared across their phone, computer, and Roku.

YouTube has not explained what caused the issue or whether a new app update is needed. Its confirmation simply states that the issue is fixed, suggesting the change was handled on the back end.

For users whose playlists have not returned to normal, Android Authority recommends checking that the latest version of the YouTube app is installed. The missing videos, for those who spent the past few weeks wondering where their carefully curated Watch Later collection went, should now be back where they belong.
