YouTube tests hiding dislike button on long-form videos

YouTube is testing a change that hides the dislike button on long-form videos in the three-dot menu, Android Authority reports.

The test follows a similar experiment on YouTube Shorts that eventually led to the removal of the dislike button on short-form videos. YouTube removed the dislike counter in 2021, and it later removed the dislike button on short-form videos. The latest change, if expanded, would extend the platform’s adjustments to dislikes from Shorts to regular long-form videos.

Android Authority reported that the change has not been released widely. It described the experiment as a sign of where the platform might be heading next. Neowin pointed out that users are not pleased with the test, according to Android Authority.
